Teeny Tiny SILK Quilts

Made by Sue Fox

When Fox learned how to operate a sewing machine at age ten, she had no idea that it would become the vehicle that would drive her life forward.  Her entire working life has centered on stitching for both business & for pleasure.

Her first quilt was made during her early teen years, using fabrics harvested from clothing & household linens.  Her second quilt, made during her early 40s, was also made from “Rescued Materials”… as have hundreds of other quilts since then (primarily using Silk, Linen, & Wool).

These Teeny Tiny SILK Quilts have been some of the most challenging constructions of Foxy’s recent years… the precision required being both tedious & time-consuming, yet extremely satisfying.

Rejecting the corporate profit-driven (& highly toxic) manufacturing methods used for making “new” fabrics, instead embracing the use of materials that are already circulating on the planet, is Fox’s intentional & radical act of creative responsibility.
